We can’t believe they’re not better: the most disappointing new cars

But while the days of deathtraps and shoddily built motors are thankfully behind us, some new cars are better than others. Indeed, there’s a few you really ought to steer clear of.  We’ve selected 20 cars that might be fine in isolation, but must live with a ‘must try harder’ tag when viewed alongside their key rivals.

The naughty list

We’re making a list and checking it twice. Our aim: to identify 20 cars that might be fine in isolation, but must live on the naughty list when viewed alongside their key rivals.

These cars are the automotive equivalent of unwrapping a pair of socks on Christmas morning or finding a lump of coal in your stocking. Remember, a dog is for life, not just for Christmas.
