Fiat Panda history: 42 years… and now ZERO Euro NCAP stars

Less than a week later, the car made its press debut at the Geneva Motor Show (launching in the UK in summer 1981). “Giugiaro, make a ‘French-style’ utility car which is identical in weight and manufacturing costs to the Fiat 126, but which obviously is larger and more comfortable.” Those were the demands of Carlo De Benedetti, Fiat’s new CEO, at the end of July 1975. He wanted to see initial sketches by mid-August.

Panda – born in 1980
