However the 35-year-old, who is currently starring as a judge on the BBC’s The Greatest Dancer, said that she has “paused” her search for a relationship as she finds the “lows” of a break-up too difficult.

“I wouldn’t say I’ve given up on love. I love love,” the singer told MailOnline. “But I have paused my relationship goals. All is well. I’m just going with the flow, but I have no plans to meet anybody any time soon.

“I hate the lows… I hate the lows. It’s kind of one of the things that makes us not want to get into a relationship. Nothing quite makes you feel like that, does it? Nothing else.”

Cheryl confirmed that “there’s no animosity whatsoever” between her and Payne, 25, after the couple announced that they had decided to part ways in July.

In their break-up statement, the pair told fans that they would continue to co-parent their son Bear, who will turn two in March.

“We are learning all the time,” she said of the decision. “We’re just like any other couple that have gone through this, but we have a few more eyes watching us… Just a few.”

Earlier this week, the star hinted that she might not be done with music just yet, after an eagle-eyed fan spotted her name listed on a track called Let You.

The former Girls Aloud member had previously announced that she would quit music if single Love Made Me Do It, failed to chart.
