Fans are calling for David and Victoria Beckham to cameo on Modern Family after they crashed the set of the hit US show.

The Beckhams' kicked out the Dunphys as they moved into the famous TV home after visiting the set while holidaying in Los Angeles.

Victoria, 43, shared a picture showing children Brookyln, Romeo, Cruz and Harper posing on the sofa as husband David attempts to take on man of the house status from Jesse Tyler Ferguson as he stands proudly on the staircase.

She captioned the image: “Dunphys are out, the Beckhams moved in. The new Modern Family! #DavidDunphy #mitchstolemypose @jessetyler @davidbeckham.”

Tyler also shared a picture from the visit and joked that he had taken over the role of Victoria while the fashion designer was busy playing Claire.

“The role of Claire is being played by @victoriabeckham. The role of Phil is being played by @davidbeckham. The role of Victoria Beckham is being played by @jessetyler.

“Thank you all for coming to visit the Modern Family set today! We loved having you all!!!”

He was later forced to edit his post as fans got over excited after mistakenly assuming that the Beckhams were on set to film an upcoming episode.

He added: “EDIT: the family was only visiting the set, not shooting an episode. Although I think David could be Lily's new soccer coach.”

Fans encouraged show bosses to seriously consider inviting the family on set for a cameo with one commenting: “Couldn't he audition for the role as soccer coach for lily ?? Would be awsome!!!”

Another posted: “Oh yea I'd love to see David Beckham on the show.”

A third begged: “Please have them on the show!!!”
