The ceremony lasted around two-and-a-half hours before the reception at the nearby York House Hotel.

Miss Williamson, 36, of Stoke-on-Trent, who has had relationships with ‘both men and women’ said the couple were ‘so in love’ and a ‘perfect match’.

She previously told The Sun: ‘I’ve had relationships with both men and women in the past but none of them come close to my love for Charlie. He’s so eccentric, but so am I. It’s a perfect match.

She added: ‘I know he has a public image of being a violent prisoner, but in reality he is so different. He can never change the things he has done in the past, but he is working so hard to put that behind him.’

The notorious prisoner and former bare-knuckle boxer was first jailed in 1974.

He has spent a total of 41 years in prison, having had his sentence increased previously for attacking fellow inmates and taking people hostage.
