The British pop star, 39, has announced that she will welcome the new addition to her family around the same time as she releases her new album.

Speaking to Chris Evans on Radio 2 about her forthcoming new music, the singer dropped the bombshell news that she was pregnant again.

Mental,” she said.

When asked if parenting gets any easier, Ellis-Bextor replied: “No I don’t think it does, but I think you get more relaxed with the chaos.”

She added that the couple are yet to discover whether or not they will be having a baby boy or baby girl.

After welcoming her fourth son back in 2015, the singer said that she’d found pregnancy more difficult than the first time around.

"It's been really nice actually. I've enjoyed it. I think it's a little bit harder to allow myself to be pregnant because obviously I've got the three others that I'm looking after and they don't cut me a lot of slack. I'm not allowed to sit down that much,” she said.

She said: “I think because I have a family and I’ve got young children and that comes with all the chaos and demands of family life, I think it’s made me a little bit selfish with my music it’s given me a place that’s for me.”
