© Instagram/davidbeckham/Rex Fashion designer Stella McCartney is said to be “furious” after David Beckham shared a picture of her daughter on social media at Harper’s Buckingham Palace birthday party.

Harper and some of her friends were welcomed into the palace earlier this week for the celebrations.

Unsurprisingly, her proud parents took to Instagram to share photos of their daughter and her special moment.

But one picture, which showed Harper with five friends including Stella's youngest child Reiley Willis seems to have caused a bit of a stir.

Reiley's mum Stella, herself daughter of Beatles’ legend Sir Paul McCartney, likes to keep her children out of the public eye and makes a point of not posting pictures of them online.

She is now apparently "spitting feathers" after the group shot featuring Reiley, six, David Beckham posted went viral.

Since being posted three days ago, it has received almost 900,000 likes.

A source close to Stella told the Sun: “Stella is spitting feathers about it because she always tries to keep her kids out of the public eye and never posts about them on her own social media accounts.

“She is especially furious because she has an OBE and has nothing but respect for the royal family. She hoped no-one would notice it was Reiley and has outlined the rules to her staff.”

David, who captioned the photo: "Lucky Harper meeting a real life princess at the Palace" has not taken down the post.

Reiley and Harper became friends after their mums, who are both fashion designers, set up a play “club” for their girls.

Victoria met the fellow fashion guru when football legend David hired Stella’s husband Alasdhair as a style consultant in 2010.

Though Harper is arguably one of the luckiest girls on earth getting to celebrate her birthday in an actual royal palace, David explained this week that the party wasn't actually hosted in Harper's honour.

"Just to be clear this wasn't the palace opening the gates for Harper's birthday party, this was a tea party where us and other guests were invited so it was a beautiful thing to do with my mum, Harper plus a few school friends," David wrote on Instagram.

"We were honoured to be able to there, beautiful tea party."

On Monday, proud dad David shared a picture from inside the palace where his daughter and her friends were greeted by Princess Eugenie of York.

Harper also posed outside the palace wearing her princess costume and holding a red balloon in an adorable photo shared by her mum Victoria.

The Beckhams are famed for posting gushing photos of their kids on social media.

On Father's Day earlier this year, David shared photos of him and his sons with a caption saying how he values the special moments with his family.

Posting the shots on Instagram, he wrote: "The moments I share with my children are incredibly special.

"Whether that's laughing together when they tell me things about their day on the drive home from school, reading one of their favourite books to them at bedtime or spending time together on holiday."
