Anne-Marie, 27, and Dua Lipa, 23, are leading the way for the 2019 BRIT Awards nominations as female artists dominate this year's line-up.

Both ladies have received an impressive four nominations each while George Ezra, 25, and Jorja Smith, 21, are tied for second with three nods each.

Anne-Marie will battle it out against Lily Allen, Florence And The Machine, Jess Glynne and Jorja Smith in the British female solo artist category.

The Essex native is also nominated for British single and British video for 2002 and British Album of the Year for Speak Your Mind.

She will go head-to-head with herself in both categories with her solo song, I.D.G.A.F. 

Jorja Smith is another contender for this year's bash, she is nominated for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Artist as well as British Album of The Year for Lost & Found.

George is also nominated in the same category for his album Staying At Tamara's while he also received nods for British Single for Shotgun and British Male Solo Artist.

Speaking of his nods, George described the award show as 'nerve-wracking', adding that the whole thing often passes in a 'blur'.

He said: 'It kind of feels like the World Cup of music. I remember watching it all the time as a kid. It's just strange as well seeing how it all works. 

'Watching the performances roll out and it’s an amazing thing to be part of.'

Nominated for British Group alongside The 1975, Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, and Years & Years, Jesy Nelson of Little Mix told what the BRITs mean to the group.

She said: 'I actually never thought it would happen. It was such a big dream of ours to perform at the BRITs [in 2017].

Cardi, Ariana, Camila, Christine And The Queens and Janelle Monae will battle it out for the International Female Solo Artist award.

Meanwhile, The Carters, First Aid Kit, Brockhampton, Nile Rodgers & Chic and Twenty One Pilots have received nods for international group.

The comedian said: 'What am I looking forward to most about hosting the BRITs? I know what it is now, I know the game, you need to be able to think on your feet, throw a few punches, and embrace the chaos.
