A million-dollar game

A man in California has admitted to spending $1m (£790,000) playing Game of War on his mobile phone. Kevin Lee Co pleaded guilty to embezzling $4.8m (£3.77m) from his employer between 2008 and 2015, using some money for the game and the rest on plastic surgery, luxury cars and season tickets to the San Francisco 49ers and the Sacramento Kings. He will be sentenced in May and faces a maximum term of 20 years.

United Nations dumps Wonder Woman 

Comic book character Wonder Woman is to lose her role as an honorary ambassador for the UN over concerns she sends the wrong message. She was the face of an empowerment campaign for women and girls but will be axed after a petition called for her to be removed, describing the character as "a large breasted, white woman of impossible proportions, scantily clad in a shimmery, thigh-baring body suit".

'Buckethead' thief steals pricey pigeons

Owners of a religious store in Miami are appealing for help after their shop was burgled by a thief wearing a bucket on his head and a large black bin bag as a cape. The store owners say the man broke in and stole a number of pigeons, worth "thousands of dollars", before making an awkward escape over a barbed-wire fence.
