We know it's over a year until we get to see Avengers: Infinity War, but it doesn't hurt to get excited about it this early on, right?

Thanks to a new production trailer, Marvel has treated us to a look at the film's first official day of filming, with new teases from the film's producer Kevin Feige, directors Anthony and Joe Russo as well as a chat with some of the cast too.

Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) are all on hand in the video to share how excited they are to be involved in the latest Marvel instalment.

Downey also held a Facebook Live from the set of the film, promising that he would "up his game" for the biggest MCU movie ever.

"I remember going to see the first Avengers movie with one of my best mates from home and I'd never have dreamed that I'd be in one of these movies, let alone playing Spider-Man," Holland said.

"I feel like I'm on top of the world as this is just mind blowing."

"Day one of what promises to be a year of fun-filled 'lensing'," Downey Jr added.

Infinity War has packed in that many superheroes from across the cinematic universe that there's practically no room to move, let alone lob a villain across a set, which is only part of why it looks like it'll be an amazing film.

"The end of [Civil War] was very much a set up for what these movies would be," Anthony Russo teased. "We always had the sense of that."

"Tony's not talking to Steve," writer Christopher Markus added. "The Avengers are basically a name with nobody in it. The world is vulnerable."

But, of course, Infinity War will also bring the much-anticipated showdown with Thanos, who Feige calls the "biggest, the best, the baddest villain we've ever had - and the most terrifying villain the Avengers have ever faced", which is reason enough for us to pay for a cinema ticket.

The directors also praised the "great roster" of characters in the movie, which is greatly helped by the fact that practically the entire cast of Guardians of the Galaxy will be appearing for the first time alongside the usual Avengers, while representing behind-the-scenes is the film's director James Gunn who picks up an executive producer role on Infinity War.

Gunn's brother Sean also recently teased the official Avengers: Infinity War logo in an Instagram update shortly after filming again, although the new production video has given us a more definitive update on that front.

Avengers: Infinity War will be released in the UK on April 27, 2018, and in the US on May 4, 2018 but first up for Marvel will be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2which releases April 28, 2017 in the UK and May 5, 2017 in the US.

And you know that one will be good too because it's already winning over audiences before it's even been properly released.
