Christina Aguilera postpones Canadian date of Liberation tour 'per doctor's orders' after losing her voice

Vocal powerhouse Christina Aguilera is taking some time off tour after losing her voice.

The What A Girl Wants songstress, 37, took to Twitter to announce she was postponing the Thursday night performance of her Liberation Tour in Orillia, Ontario,

'MY FIGHTERS, MY FRIENDS,' the crooner's message began, before explaining: 'Per doctor's order, I need to rest tonight in order to get well asap – and will be unable to sing my heart out and perform for you at tonight's show in Orillia, Ontario.'

'It aches me to share that I am under the weather and have lost my voice today,' her message explained.

'Per doctor's order, I need to rest tonight in order to get well asap – and will be unable to sing my heart out and perform for you at tonight's show in Orillia, Ontario.'

She promised a rescheduled show as soon as possible though.

'I have kept you waiting so long and I look forward to each night on this tour,' Chrsitina told her Canadian fans.

'I promise to make tonight up to you with a new date very soon – until then I am sending love and gratitude for your support and I CANNOT WAIT to get back on the stage after this short rest,' she added. 'All my love, Xtina.'

It is unclear if X-Tina will be well-enough to play her next scheduled date, Saturday in Detroit.

Christina kicked off her Liberation Tour on September 25 in Hollywood, Florida.

She has 16 more shows scheduled ahead of the tour's end.

The final show is scheduled for Tuesday November 13 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
