A deaf woman has wowed the internet with a breathtaking performance on America's Got Talent, despite not being able to hear herself sing.

Mandy Gerber, 29, had always dreamed of being a singer, but her ambition seemed to be out of reach after her hearing gradually deteriorated and she became completely deaf at the age of 18.

But, rather than letting her disability stop her, the inspirational singer refused to give up...

Using muscle memory and visual tuners, Mandy worked hard to regain her singing skills, Stylist reports. She now performs barefoot, feeling the tempo and the beat vibrating through the floor.

Pretty amazing, ey?

Now, as a contestant on America's Got Talent, Mandy is proving just how amazingly talented she really is.

'I'm gonna sing a song that I wrote myself,' she told the judges and audience. 'After I lost my hearing, I gave up […] but I want to do more with my life than just give up."

And, as she began a breathtaking performance of her own original song, 'Try', you can bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Unsurprisingly, Mandy earned herself a standing ovation from the judges and audience, with Simon Cowell hitting his 'Golden Buzzer' and declaring, 'I don't think you're going to need a translator for this!'
