Alicia Vikander looks set to star in upcoming thriller Alina.

The Swedish actress - who got her big break as Kitty in Anna Karenina in 2012 - is currently in talks about the female lead role in the movie, reported Screen Daily.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy actor David Dencik and The Borgias' Matias Varela have also been linked to the film, which is based on Bjorn Bostrom's play and is about "a young man forced to choose between his love for his sister and the deadly demands of his family".

Shooting on the IFFR CineMart project is due to start later this year, with Bjorne Larson in the director's chair.

Alicia, 25, has several films coming up including Australian crime thriller Son Of A Gun and action-adventure comedy The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
