EastEnders' Jean Slater will attempt to seduce Phil Mitchell in an effort to find out what has happened to Stacey.

Stacey has been off screen since last summer, when she fled Walford with her husband Martin after attacking Phil Mitchell in self-defence. Phil has no idea Stacey was even involved, thinking that it was all Kat's fault, but Jean is feeling paranoid after the issue with her medications.

In scenes that will air next week, Jean will take Shirley's advice that seduction is her best bet and don a sparkly dress to head over to Phil's place. But her mentions of Stacey and charm offensive will only serve to confuse him.

Will Jean's actions give the game away, or will Phil carry on believing Kat was responsible for the attack?

Furthermore, does the soap revisiting Stacey's exit story mean that she might make a return in the near future? Well, Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey, is on maternity leave after giving birth to her first child last year, plus there's the small matter of filming being put on pause due to the current lockdown.

The show is making official plans to return to filming in June, although it will be completely off-air for a period of time as they adjust to filming and editing in the current climate.

Storylines will reference COVID-19 and the jump ahead in time, but it won't be a main focus of the plots.

EastEnders will air these scenes on Tuesday, May 26, from 7.30pm on BBC One.
