Dot Branning shocked viewers Thursday night by announcing her swift departure from Walford.

The EastEnders legend left viewers heartbroken after announcing that she would be leaving.

Even Robbie was baffled as she handed over a list to him with detailing beloved cat Dave's daily routine.

Thankfully, however, she won't be going forever as it seems like she just needs a break.

"Away?!" Robbie had exclaimed after she told him that she would be leaving.

"Well I'm wore out Robbie," she told him. "What with all that's gone on in the Square - Ian losing his son and his business and Lauren heartbroken and then here you have me with my fractured femur."

She added: "I just want to get away!"

When Robbie asked when, she revealed that she had rung Sandy, who was the mother of Nick's daughter, her granddaughter.

Dot said that she had moved and would be able to do her physio by the sandy beaches.

"How long are you thinking, grandma?" He asked, but she ignored him and handed Dave over to him.

"I'm sure you and Dave will take good care of each other," she said.

He called after her, asking for how long she would be leaving for, but she ignored him.

Please don't stay too long away, Dot!
