The Good Morning Britain studio was left in chaos this morning after weatherman Alex Beresford uncharacteristically interrupted a debate - leading to a stand-off with Piers Morgan.

Piers and Susanna Reid were chatting about Miranda Kerr's controversial comments about wanting to please husband Evan Spiegel by dressing to impress.

But as the debate began to run over, weatherman Alex seemed to be getting frustrated that his forecast would not be aired.

So when he walked up to their desk, Piers demanded to know what he was doing.

"I just want to do the weather," Alex said. "I'm waiting to do the forecast."

Susanna told him to "stand down", but Piers was much less polite.

The host exclaimed: "Easy tiger! Get back in your weather box now - it's not about you!"

But they all had a good laugh about the situation, with Susanna and Piers joking that he had "stormed" the studio.

But Alex wasn't done, and told camera six to stay with him and eventually got his way by presenting the weather.

Later, Alex took to Twitter to joke about the situation.
