Each year, a host of celebs have battled it out in a bid to lift up the famous glitterball trophy.

Famous faces are paired up with a professional dancer and work hard to learn the moves each week.

The BBC contest has provided fans with some very memorable TV moments, such as Ed Balls' Gangnam Style and Ann Widdecombe floating down from the ceiling in a sort of Peter Pan panto-esque style.

Some big stars have taken part, and some lesser-known celebs have had their careers propelled to new heights after giving it a whirl.

Here's a run down of all the winners ever from the most recent to the very first...

She was the first female celebrity to win since 2010.

EastEnders produced its second Strictly champion in 2010, when actress Kara Tointon won the contest a year after leaving the soap.

Holby City's Tom Chambers faced the toughest Strictly challenge yet with 15 other stars battling to be named champion, but he overcame stiff competition.

The likes of Christine Bleakley and Austin Healey looked strong, but the eventual champion could look back with pride at his Foxtrot.

Despite finalists Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon performing three perfect routines between them, Tom's popularity shone through as he won the contest.

She even went on to become a judge on the show.

Former Spice Girl Emma Bunton and ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel were amongst the competition, but Mark and his partner Karen Hardy did enough to win.

Their road to the trophy was given a boost by their perfect Salsa and a microphone mishap made them the first couple to restart a routine.
