Danny Dyer will make his much anticipated return to EastEnders as Mick Carter tonight.

He's taken some much-needed time away from Albert Square.

But tonight Mick is back with a bang – and he's not happy to see Lee Ryan's character Woody in his house in a skimpy pink dressing gown.

Furious Mick punches the pub manager in the face in explosive scenes.

Meanwhile Whitney – also dressed in her pyjamas looks on.

But what is Mick so angry about?

TV bosses released a dramatic teaser last week, which showed pregnancy, death and relationship woes hitting Walford.

Returning to his character Mick, Dyer was seen smashing a glass against a wall as he argued with Shirley Carter (played by Linda Henry).

That happens after he learns of her shock decision to sell their pub The Queen Vic.

As if that wasn't enough, he seems to revive his affair with Whitney Carter (Shona McGarty).

Mick is heard saying: 'I missed you,' before a 'lost and damaged' Whitney is seen dealing with the dilemma of her ailing marriage.

Not that he's the only character playing away.

Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) also seems to get caught enjoying a fling with sexy newcomer Josh Hemmings (Eddie Eyre).

It was announced earlier this year that Dyer would be taking a break from the show.

Although the reasons behind it remain unconfirmed, some fans feared he was feeling the pressure from the BBC soap's punishing schedule.

Former EastEnders actor Larry Lamb even implied that some actors in soap operas turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism, although he didn't insinuate this was the case with Dyer.
