ITV I'm A Celebrity: Richard Madeley rushed to hospital after falling ill

I'm A Celebrity's Richard Madeley has been rushed to the hospital after falling ill in the night, according to The Sun.

The presenter, 65, was rushed in the early hours of the morning after the sudden illness which required medics to rush to the Gwrych Castle.

A source told The Sun: "It was horrifying - campers were really upset and concerned, all of the crew and medics rushed to set to help him. It was a real scare for everyone involved.”

The 65-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital but is said to be 'on the mend'.

In a statement, an ITV spokesperson said to The Sun: "Richard was unwell in the early hours and was immediately seen by our on-site medical team.

"He's since been taken to hospital as a precaution, the health and safety of our campmates is our priority."

The day before Richard was said to be in good health as he took part in the Kitchen Nightmares Trial and a group Bushtucker Trial.

He ended up missing out on six out of ten stars due to struggling to untie the knots and being hit with rotten fruit.

The presenter is married to Judy Finnigan and together they share two adult children together - Jack and Chloe.

The family have been supporting the I'm A Celebrity star.

Taking to her Instagram page, daughter Chloe shared a snap of the family getting ready to watch the show.

Her caption read: "Team @richardmadeleyofficial!"
