You might not have had the youngest royals pegged as big TV watchers. We know Kate Middleton and Prince William's three children enjoy some pretty wholesome hobbies, including cooking, gardening, and other outdoorsy activities including swimming and tennis. But the royals are human too, after all, and Prince George, eight, actually loves a bit of TV.

In fact, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's eldest child was actually such an avid fan of one particular television show when he was a bit younger that its creators made a special episode dedicated to him. Kate and William previously revealed that George is such a huge fan of Fireman Sam that the show actually made an episode inspired by him, reports OK! magazine.

Kate Middleton told BBC Radio One that “Fireman Sam has taken an awful lot of interest” in their household. So when the children’s series celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017, it released an episode called ‘The Prince in Pontypandy’, which told the story of a prince that comes to visit Fireman Sam’s station.

The fictional Welsh town is full of excitement when royal visitors come to visit and the Pontypandy Fire Service are given the responsibility of organising the event. Things get difficult, however, when one character falls down a ravine, but the day is saved when the prince unexpectedly comes to the rescue in a helicopter.

This is thought to be a nod to Prince William’s time working as a pilot with the RAF Search and Rescue and the royal characters that appear in the episode are based on Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince George.
