© Provided by The Telegraph You can’t go too wrong with a portion of Weetabix to start the day, but the breakfast cereal brand’s latest serving suggestion has left many horrified.

Milk, strawberries and honey are perfectly OK accompaniments to the wholegrain cereal, but it appears many people draw the line when you add eggs into the mix.

Like this:

Twitter user Jenny Colgan, author of the Beach Street Bakery novels, posted a photo of a bizarre Weetabix serving suggestion of eggs Benedict (yes, you read that correctly) and it did not go down well with many Twitter users.

Twitter was horrified:

Weetabix admitted staff got “a 'little' enthusiastic” during a brainstorming session, adding it “seemed like a good idea at the time”.

“We hope we can put this behind us and still make breakfast work, perhaps with something more traditional like milk and fruit,” they added.

“This recipe is for those who like a little more adventure with their cereal.”

Weetabix joked it was something only Ryvita could have got away with.
