But along with the countless likes and admiration comes a small contingent of trolls and detractors who are ready to seize on the smallest imperfections whenever Emma posts a snap of herself to Instagram.

Now that she's just one week off her six-month pregnancy milestone, her critics have been 'bump-shaming' her slim stomach and insisting that she can't possibly be eating enough.

When Gaz shared a picture of himself kissing Emma's bump, he captioned it "these weeks are flying by - #worldssmallestbump".

But sure enough, a tide of nasty comments about his girlfriend's body came flooding in, with cruel commenters saying the picture was "depressing", "wrong in so many ways" and even accusing Emma of making up her pregnancy.

"For 6 months pregnant that's seriously unhealthy- weight needs gained here," said another.

It's not the first time Emma has come under fire for her small bump, but she has been documenting her pregnancy since the start.

Earlier this week she posted her own bump picture showing a grinning Gaz with his ear resting on her stomach listening to his unborn son move.

And she's not the only celebrity to have been recently bump-shamed - yesterday Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, received the same treatment at her first public appearance since news of her third pregnancy went public.

The Duchess, who is thought to be less than 12 weeks into her pregnancy and has been suffering from the extreme sickness condition known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum , appeared at a Buckingham Palace reception.

"I thought she was pregnant!?" one commented on the official Kensington Palace Instagram posts.

Another commented: "I can't believe she's prego, she looks too thin."

Cara De La Hoyde has also been on the receiving end of bump-shaming - and at the other end of the scale, celebs like Kim Kardashian and Jessica Simpson have been slammed for putting on too much weight during their previous pregnancies.
