Gisele Bündchen: 'Meditation has helped me with anxiety'

Gisele Bündchen credits meditation with getting her through life’s “biggest challenges” and has created her own guided session to help others.

Gisele has been using Insight Timer, a meditation app, for four years and has even created her own 14-minute guided meditation to help others find inner peace. The star’s meditation is available in both English and Portuguese and aims to help people find happiness and courage during these difficult times.

“If you’re new to practicing, sometimes it’s easier to begin with a guided meditation,” she advised. “To help people get started on their paths, I created my first free guided meditation on the Insight Timer app called Hope in Times of Uncertainty.”

Gisele will continue to upload one free meditation featuring breathing work techniques, and focusing on gratitude and peace, each month for the next 11 months.

The 40-year-old star hopes the sessions will offer people long-term coping strategies.

“Meditation is the gift I give myself every day,” she said, “and I will always be grateful for its powerful, positive influence. Any time I have an important decision to make, I always know to go inward to find the right answer.”

Gisele is also hosting two live sessions on the Insight Timer app to mark Anxiety and Depression Awareness month in October. On 10 October she will take part in an English live stream, while the Portuguese chat is scheduled for 19 October, and will see the model talk openly about her mental health and answer questions submitted by users of the app.

“When I learned to calm my mind, and reflect, and find clarity, I started to find all the answers I needed,” she explained. “Since then, I’ve been a passionate student of all the ways meditation, yoga, conscious breathing, and healing foods can help support my overall health.”
