Fresh off the back of his South Africa tour, Prince Harry has shared a picture of a very different project involving singer Ed Sheeran.

Harry, 35, posted a clip on the Sussex Royal Instagram page which showed the recording artist turning up at his family home that he shares with Meghan Markle.

The clip begins with Ed ringing the doorbell which plays the God Save The Queen tune before the door is answered.

In the video, Harry greets Ed by saying “mate” and asking him how he is, to which the singer reciprocates.

The Prince also quipped that it was like he was “looking at a mirror”, as both public figures are a similar height, have ginger hair and beards.

Ed responds saying: “Do you mind if I bring the camera in?” to which Harry says “of course guys, come on in.”

The clip then cuts to a black screen which simply reads: “Tomorrow. 10th October,” when the full video will presumably be released.

Not many other details about what the video will be have been shared as the caption simply reads “coming soon.”

However, the 10th of October is World Mental Health Day and the Instagram post contains the #WMHD caption suggesting it could be some campaign footage to support the cause.

Given the profiles of perhaps the two most famous red-haired men alive, it could be a chat between the pair about the pressures of being in the public eye and how it affects their metal health, but it has not been confirmed.

Fans commented on the post in their thousands, in high anticipation of the collaboration.

One said: “What!?!! I’m soooo excited,” while another added: “The two favourite gingers of England. perfect”. Another follower gushed: “This is like a dream come true.”

Another fan said that the video was “How to break Internet with just one post,” as the pair are two of the most famous and popular people in modern times.

Last year a commemorative plate celebrating Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding featured Sheeran’s face, where Prince Charles’ son should be.

Thousands of people took to Twitter to ridicule the error but the designer claimed that it was ”intentional” to use the singer’s face.

There was also a report which said that teenager Toya Thornton, 12, asked the the Duke of Sussex: “Are you the real Prince Harry?”

To which the amused Prince replied: “Yes, the other one is Ed Sheeran.”

Harry, wife Meghan and son Archie recently completed a tour of South Africa, their first overseas tour as a family.

The ten-day trip saw the family visit the region in a programme designed to boost Britain’s relationships abroad as well as support charitable causes.

Ahead of the tour a spokesman for the couple said: “The Duke of Sussex’s love for Africa is well known; he first visited the continent at the age of thirteen and more than two decades later, the people, culture, wildlife and resilient communities continue to inspire and motivate him every day.

"As Her Majesty’s Commonwealth Youth Ambassador, The Duke now has a platform to be able to support young people across Africa in reaching their full potential.”
