Pippa Middleton could be about to receive a royal title of her own, but it has nothing to do with her sister Kate…

You might expect any connection Pippa has to the royals is through her sister’s marriage to Prince William, right?

In reality, Pippa has actually developed some royal links through her own marriage to James Middleton.

Pippa’s title won’t be granted to her by the Queen, as Kate and Meghan Markle’s titles were.

Instead, Pippa will inherit the title ‘Lady Glen Affric’ due to James’ family owning a particularly important piece of land in Scotland.

Basically, James’ father David Matthews purchased a castle in the Scottish Highlands, just a few miles west of Loch Ness back in 2008.

Buying the property, and the cool 10,000 acres that came with it, meant that the Matthews family also inherited a title.

Mr Matthews thus became ‘Laird of Glen Affric’, and as James is his eldest son, tradition states the name will be passed on to him.

This means that James will one day be Laird of Glen Affric , which would mean Pippa will become Lady of Glen Affric.

Of course, James and Pippa could choose to not adopt the titles, but the title does give them a ‘higher ranking’ of sorts within aristocratic circles.

The royal connection to Glen Affric doesn’t end there either, as the Queen’s grandmother Mary previously stayed there in the late 19th century.

The Glen Affric estate has also been previously used by David Beckham, as the location for his Haig Club Whisky ad campaign in 2014.

James and Pippa married in May 2017 in the stunning 12th century St. Mark’s Castle in Berkshire, England.

Earlier this month Pippa confirmed she was expecting her first child, after showing off her baby bump at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in May.
