15-year-old fatally stabbed in north London named by police as Romario Opia
The 15-year-old boy fatally stabbed in Islington, north London, on Monday (January 25) was named by police as Romario Opia Footage from January 27 shows the scene with police tape and floral tributes. Officers were called to the scene at around 5:30 pm on Monday after reports of a stabbing. Romario was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. A man has since been arrested prompting a Section 60 in the area, elevating stop and search powers for officers. Romario is the third teenager to be stabbed to death in the UK in the space of a week.
