The young royals looked to be in good spirits, packed into the back of a car as they prepared to honour the monarch and her consort.

Queen Elizabeth has worn the jewellery herself on multiple occasions, including during a visit to Bangladesh in 1983.

However, he was in good company - the three young royals are very close, even living in the same (admittedly vast) residence; Kensington Palace.

It was also revealed that the Queen has found for Prince Philip a special present only she is capable of giving as the pair celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.

'Awards in the Royal Victorian Order are made personally by The Queen, for services to the Sovereign,' a post on the Royal Family’s Twitter account said.
