Dressing up for the occasion, the mother-of-two opted for a vibrant blue floor-length gown for the special evening. A demure and flattering style, it featured a cinched waist, square neckline and ruched shoulders.

Accessorising the look, the royal opted for jaw-dropping diamond floral earrings, a diamond brooch and a glittering sequin clutch.

For her beauty, she wore her hair up with a low-slung bun pinned at the nape of her neck and a sweeping side parting. She kept her makeup natural, with flawless skin, blushed cheeks, fluttery lashes and a soft pink lip and she finished the look with a poppy coral pink manicure.

Also in attendance was the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra.

The Duchess of Cornwall was appointed Colonel-in-Chief last year and has since visited five regular battalions and intends to visit the remaining three in due course.

The Duke of Edinburgh transferred the role of Colonel-in-Chief of The Rifles to her in July 2020. The Duke of Edinburgh was Colonel-in-Chief since its formation in 2007 and had been connected to all its Regiments since 1953.

The Duchess of Cornwall delivered a speech to guests during the evening event in London.
