Awards season is in full swing and we've loved seeing some of our favourite celebrities stepping out on the red carpet in their most glamorous looks.

From the BAFTAs to the Grammys, we've spotted everything from sleek hairstyles to messy updos on the red carpets this year.

Now Paul Edmonds, who was the Official Hair Partner of the BAFTAs 2019, has revealed the key trends set to huge this awards season.

The hair stylist said, "the main trend is sleek back straight hair, condition is key ladies so get used to using finishing oil products to add shine and lustre to hair".

On the BAFTA red carpet last night, celebs such as Westworld star Thandie Newton and US actress Melissa McCarthy worked the sleek trend with their brunette locks swept behind their ears.

Another key red carpet look this year is soft waves and pinned back curls, a trend that is always a go-to for a glamorous look.

Paul said: "Soft waves and pinned back loose curls have continued to be a popular choice on the red carpet this year and this is reflected in their choice of colour too.

He added: "Natural colourings such as balayage and warm, golden blonde tones continue to be a staple."

From the Duchess of Cambridge with her pinned up curls to Michelle Yeoh's soft waves, here are a few of our favourite celebs getting in on the trend.
