The Boeing 777 aircraft, owned by LATAM Airlines, has undergone a galactic makeover and been transformed into a giant Stormtrooper.

The livery was designed by Disney's creative team in conjunction with Lucasfilm, and a new time-lapse video shows how the front of the plane was transformed to look exactly like a Stormtrooper helmet - and it looks ridiculously cool.

As well as the Stormtrooper helmet, the sides of the plane have been painted black and white in line with the iconic uniform - and the tail fin is of course adorned with one of the Stormtroopers.

It's not the only Star Wars offering for passengers who are lucky enough to be on board.

All 10 Star Wars films will be available on the aircraft's in-flight entertainment, meaning you can have the ultimate film binge and fully immerse yourself in a galaxy far, far away.

The plane's quirky new look comes in celebration of the opening of the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Walt Disney World in Orlando, a highly-anticipated immersive offering where fans can explore Planet Batuu and mingle with smugglers, the Resistance and the First Order.

(There's also the chance to interact with characters, use the Play Disney Parks App to hack panels and play with droids, and even pilot the Millennium Falcon on a thrilling attraction).

LATAM Airlines' new plane made its debut this week, touching down at Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo, Brazil.

The aircraft, which has a capacity for up to 410 passengers, will serve routes from Latin America to the likes of Orlando, Miami and Madrid.

Earlier this year, Virgin Atlantic unveiled a new Star Wars-themed Boeing 747 with a huge livery showcasing the Millennium Falcon, which took to the skies for the first time in September.

In a fitting tribute to the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, the airline also renamed the plane as 'The Falcon'.
