The salary you need to buy a home in every part of Cardiff
While the coronavirus pandemic has undoubtedly changed what we're looking for in a home, the property market is one part of the economy that has endured the most change.
With house prices rising, people prioritising home working and outdoor space, and even people leaving cities - the property market in the capital is becoming more competitive than ever.
As much as the shift to working from home means that everyone is on the hunt for an office or a garden, as a first-time buyer it's difficult to know what you can afford.

Now property website Zoopla has looked at all the figures and worked out how much you need to earn to buy a property in Cardiff.
The data shows a big difference across all the areas in the city with the lowest income needed of £25,500 compared to the highest topping out at almost £62,500.
The average cost of a home in Wales as of December 2021 is £203,224, a record high reported by the ONS, up from the £196,216 figure recorded in November 2021.
The average house price provided by Zoopla is for first-time buyers is the median price of the property first-time buyers were inquiring about during the last six months. The data is based on the assumption of loan to income ratio of 4.5 and 85% LTV.
Unfortunately, not enough data has been generated to produce accurate estimations for Lisvane and Pentyrch as of January 2022.
However, results from January 2020 for these areas can be found here.
This is how much you need to earn to buy a home in each electoral ward in Cardiff and some surrounding areas.
