Harry Potter fans now have the chance to buy the birthplace of the famous wizard himself, as De Vere House in the village of Lavenham in Suffolk is now for sale.

The timber-framed, Grade I listed property with six bedrooms, appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One. Forming part of Godric's Hollow, the house can be seen opposite a fictional graveyard with a Christmas tree in the window. It is also the home where Lord Voldemort visited to kill Harry Potter's parents when he was a baby.

Situated in one of Britain's finest medieval villages, the home is packed with character in every corner. The front door is perhaps one of the most recognisable features, appearing in many UK guide books around the country.

The property compromises of two halves, which can be reached via an adjoining door. The first wing (which can also be rented out via Airbnb) has a reception hall, drawing room and two quaint bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

Head inside the main wing of the home and you'll find a stunning hall, sitting room, large kitchen, utility area, a family bathroom and a vaulted attic bedroom. Standout features include exposed wooden beams across the ceiling, decorative accessories, cosy furnishings and traditional cottage-style windows.

In medieval times, the De Vere family (who previously owned the property) were the second richest family after the King, and were responsible for creating much of Lavenham's medieval grandeur that we see today.

Additional features include the private guest sitting room (complete with its own log fire), beautiful courtyard garden and an alfresco dining area.

Head outside and you'll discover over 0.4 acres of wonderful green space. It's a lovely, traditional English garden, complete with honeysuckle, roses, lavender and growing irises.
