Period property hunters in Middlesborough can buy 40 times as many bedrooms as someone forking out the same money in Chelsea.

A row of eight, five bedroom Victorian houses has gone on sale for £799,950 in the Teeside town.

Take a three and a half hour train to Chelsea in the west of London and the same amount of cash will fetch you a single bedroom apartment.

On the wall of one of the buildings is a blue plaque informing passersby that the buildings were constructed for the Quaker businessmen who established the modern town.

Queens Square is located in an up-and-coming area of Middlesbrough which is currently undergoing regeneration.
