Eu Leaders in Kyiv: Zelensky presses for fast-tracked EU membership
The first EU summit inside Ukraine, in wartime led by Ursula Von Der Leyen and Charles Michel. It is a trip steeped in symbolism as the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion ticks closer. The European leaders are determined to show their support and solidarity with the Ukrainian government .However, Ukraine is seeking something more, fast-tracked EU membership. Volodymyr Zelensky said he wants to start negotiations this year.
