The family of a 12-year-old boy killed in a hit-and-run car crash outside his school in Essex have paid tribute to their “lovely boy”.

Harley Watson was killed when a car mounted a pavement in what police believe was a “deliberate” attack close to Debden Park High School in Loughton.

In a moving statement, shared by Essex Police, his family said: “We are so devastated by what has happened.

“Harley was a good, kind, helpful and lovely boy.

“We would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and concern. However as a family we would like people to respect our privacy and allow us to grieve in peace.”
