A Jet2 flight to Tenerife had to divert because there was no water onboard for tea and coffee.

Flight LS155 departed Glasgow at 08.55 yesterday, and was flying over western Ireland when it had to divert due to the plumbing issues.

It landed in Manchester Airport at 10am, just over an hour after it set off, reported the Daily Record.

A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that there were water issues onboard, which also meant the toilets were out of order.

Passengers were “well looked after”, according to the spokesperson, and then transferred to another flight to Tenerife.

Holidaymakers took to social media to vent their frustration.

Separately, an Emirates jet bound for Gatwick had to divert to Manchester due to strong winds. Flight EK15 from Dubai was due to land at Gatwick at 11.40am on 8 February, but instead landed in Manchester an hour later due to Storm Erik.

On 8 February, a British Airways flight had to abort a landing at Heathrow due to Storm Erik winds of up to 70mph.
