She’s one of the most famous robots in the world, and now Sophia has a mini-me.

Hanson Robotics, the firm behind the humanoid robot, has launched a ‘Little Sophia’ robot , which is aimed at children aged 7-13.

Like Sophia, Little Sophia has a human-like face - albeit with slightly more doll-like features than the original - and a mechanical body.

Measuring just 14 inches tall, the mini version is significantly smaller than the original Sophia, but has many of the same features.

This includes the ability to walk, talk, sing and tell jokes.

Hanson Robotics hopes the robot will inspire young girls to explore STEM subjects.

On its Kickstarter page, the firm wrote: “We believe that Little Sophia can help to introduce STEM, coding and AI to children - especially girls - in a fun, safe, inspiring and interactive way that might help to make small difference in reversing the current trends."

If you don’t think the mini-robot is creepy and fancy buying one yourself, head to Little Sophia’s Kickstarter page.

The robot costs $149 (£115) - although it’s worth bearing in mind that it won’t ship until December 2019.
