Manchester United have been drawn against Celta Vigo in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Jose Mourinho 's men reached the last four of the competition with a 3-2 aggregate win over Anderlecht, but required extra time before Marcus Rashford found the crucial winning goal to prevent a penalty shootout.

The first leg is set to be played on Thursday, May 4 and the second leg on Thursday, May 11.

United will play the first leg away three days ahead of a trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, while the return leg is scheduled three days ahead of the clash with Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

The Reds have never faced Celta Vigo in a competitive fixture, but the Spanish side came second to Ajax in the group stages, before overcoming FC Krasnodar and Genk to reach the semi-finals.

United paid a price for victory over Anderlecht, with both Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic departing with injuries.

But Mourinho praised the mentality of Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw, who stepped up in their absence.

Jose Mourinho sends message to TWO Manchester United players

"He cannot play every game and, on top of that, I think you are trying to take him for the European of under-something, you know," Mourinho said of matchwinner Rashford.

"It's hard for the kid to play every match but I always trust the players with a special mentality. I always trust the players with a special mentality.

"Luke Shaw today did something for me new, with him, but it means a lot for me. After 90 minutes, before I know that I have to change Zlatan, he was with cramp.

"I had Ashley Young ready to come and he told me: 'I'm going to play these 30 minutes with cramps, no problem, if you have to make a change in another position, do it because I'm ready for it.'

"These kind of things are the things that make me trust the players. Then there are the tactical aspects, learn a lot, adapt, but mentality is fundamental and that's the reason why I kept Marcus on the team all the time.

"It was because at the performance level he was months without scoring a goal but my trust on the boy is always based on his mentality and in spite of his young kid, other guys can look at him. But we have great examples of fighters, of people with the right mentality."
