When will households start receiving money off energy bills?
From October 1, households will start receiving money off energy bills. The Government’s energy price guarantee means average bills should go no higher than £2,500 at any point over the next two years. It will save a typical home around £1,000 from October 1, when the current consumer price cap had been set to soar, according to official estimates. However the Government’s plan only caps the cost per unit that households pay, with actual bills still determined by how much energy is consumed.
