Boris Johnson finally resigns in wake of fresh exodus of ministers

Boris Johnson has quit as Prime Minister following the resignations of top ministers. Mr Johnson spent more than 1,000 days in the most powerful seat in British politics having been elected as the Conservative Party leader in June 2019. It was months of multiple sleaze allegations and continued revelations of parties held across Whitehall during the pandemic that led to the resignations which put the nail in his coffin and forced him to stand down.
