Iceland turns carbon dioxide to rock to clean the air

"We capture the CO2 actually in a very simple process by dissolving it in water. So basically we are just making soda water out of the CO2. Then we transport that water containing the dissolved CO2 towards our injection field where we inject it into the subsurface and there it’s turned into rock through mineralization reactions with the surrounding bedrock." -WS of the Hellisheidi geothermal power plant
