Wistow Maze marks 50th anniversary of moon landings with astronaut layout

Wistow Maze owner Diana Brooks takes a test run around the maze ahead of Saturday's opening. Since 2004 the design of the maze has changed every year and this year depicts an astronaut to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. Wistow Maze is one of the biggest in the UK and attracts more than 25,000 visitors every summer. The eight-acre maze contains three miles of pathways and is created using GPS technology. Made up of maize and sunflowers, the maze opens for eight weeks each year and once the season ends in September the maize is harvested and used to feed cattle.
