NATO Summit: 'There were alot of breakthroughs with regards to aiding Ukraine'

The United States announced a further $800 million in weapons and military aid. US President Joe Biden, speaking after a NATO summit in Madrid, said America and its allies were united in standing up to Russian President Vladimir Putin. For more analysis of the NATO Summit and its members' unwavering military support for Ukraine, FRANCE 24 is joined by Dr. Samuel Ramani, Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and Tutor of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. "There was a lot of military assistance to Ukraine announced at the summit," explains Dr. Ramani. "Britain has been supplying a billion pounds worth of aid," the United States, France and Germany are all providing long-ranged howitzer weapons, Spain is vowing to increase defence spending and aid, and the Czech Republic is investing in reconnaissance and other drones.
