Biggest pre-fight bust ups

Whether it’s before an MMA fight or a boxing match, the pre-fight press conferences and weigh-ins are often explosive events as the two competitors look to gain a psychological edge over their opponent. Sometimes, a simple stare and a few words is all it takes for the fighters and their entourages to find themselves in the middle of a bust-up. Take the press conference for upcoming UFC 202 fight between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor. After McGregor arrived 30 minutes late, Diaz stood up and left, aiming insults and gestures to the McGregor camp. Diaz then threw a water bottle at McGregor, who was on the stage. McGregor threw one back before running around the stage, grabbing cans of energy drink and water bottles and throwing them over the heads of Team Diaz. UFC President Dana White ended the press conference prematurely, without the planned face-off. We’ve looked at some of the most explosive pre-fight bust-ups in recent history.
