Arsenal have made an approach to Real Madrid about the possibility of signing James Rodriguez on loan, even though the Colombian is currently on loan at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

According to a report from Miguel Delaney of the Independent, Arsenal have contacted Real Madrid as they’d like to sign the 27-year-old on a temporary basis.

Madrid would reportedly like to sell the midfielder on a permanent basis but it seems that both themselves and Bayern Munich would be open to letting Rodriguez go elsewhere in January.

Napoli are reportedly interested in the Colombian international too, but Delaney says that Real Madrid would actually prefer if he moves to Tottenham as part of a deal that would allow the them to bring in Christian Eriksen.

Arsenal’s transfer funds are reportedly low this month, hence why the club are looking at possible loan deals, with Barcelona’s Denis Suarez another reported target for the Gunners.
