
Get paid to get fit: Millions join app that rewards users for getting active
January is the time of year where gym floors are dominated by people embarking on new year goals, splurging on memberships, subscriptions, and state of the art equipment in a bid to become the ultimate fitness fanatic. But despite kick starting this year with the best intentions, Over 2.3 million UK adults have already given up on their 2023 new years resolutions But despite starting the year with the best intentions, a quarter of people admit to giving up on their New Year’s fitness related goals in previous years before the end of January - with 4 in 10 acknowledging that their fitness targets won’t have the longevity to last until the summer. New data shows that over 40% of people admit to having wasted money on gym equipment or subscribing to a gym membership that they use less than they anticipated. Two-thirds (64%) admit to wasting £153.70 a year on both fitness equipment and gym membership – totalling almost £4 billion wasted each year across the entire UK.
