Liverpool are showing an interest in signing Augsburg left-back Philipp Max this summer.

The Premier League giants are said to want Max to come in and cover for Scotland international Andy Robertson next season.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, via The BBC, Liverpool are keen to bring him to Anfield as they look to replace Alberto Moreno.

The report claims that Augsburg are demanding €20m for the defender, with Barcelona also monitoring the situation as they go in search of a back-up to Jordi Alba.

Max joined Augsburg in 2015 and has played over 100 games in the Bundesliga for the club in his four years.

He was included in Germany’s squad for the Olympics in 2016, making three appearances for his country as they won a silver medal.

The 25-year-old impressed in the Bundesliga for Augsburg last season, despite his side only just finishing above the relegation play-off spot.
