West Ham United defender Declan Rice has shown off some nasty scars on his leg after colliding with Issa Diop during a training session, according to a report on HITC.

The 19-year-old defender has shown just how competitive the training sessions are under Manuel Pellegrini and is hoping to break into the starting lineup for the fixture against Everton on Sunday.

Summer signing Diop is yet to live up to his £22m fee and has not looked convincing at the back for the Hammers, who have conceded four times in the two Premier League matches that he has played at centre back.

Rice took to Instagram to show off his wounds and tagged Diop, along with the sarcastic caption “thank you my friend”. The image can be seen below. (Credit: HITC)

The wounds don’t look sufficient enough to rule him out of action though, which is good news for West Ham fans.

The teenager has since removed the image from his Instagram story. West Ham will be hoping to end their torrid run of four consecutive league defeats on Sunday at Goodison Park.
