Ian Holloway dubbed Owen Windsor ‘sensational’ after the West Brom loanee’s impact in Grimsby Town’s win at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Albion lent Windsor to Grimsby before the transfer window shut and he’s helped the club to seven points from the three matches since he arrived.

Windsor, who Albion signed from Cirencester Town, scored against Cheltenham in the week and then set up Town’s first goal at Orient.

Right at the end of the game in London this weekend, he burst from his own half and beat a number of players before winning a penalty which sealed the game.

Holloway was delighted that Albion permitted him to borrow Windsor, and is excited by the chance to work with him in the coming months.

“I thought the run and the pass for the first goal was sensational. The kid is a joy to have, I’m so delighted to have added him,” he told the Grimsby Telegraph.

“He’s like a maverick, he doesn’t care if someone hits him, he just gets up and keeps bundling on.

“He’s got so much ability, and the lads love him. As a centre-forward, you’ve also got to work hard without the ball these days, and he doesn’t stop chasing and running.

“When the big lump smashed him in the first couple of minutes, I felt sorry for the big lump because you don’t want to wake him up! He loves that sort of challenge.

“I’m delighted for him, and I’m delighted West Brom have let me have him.”
