Timo Werner is unlikely to be joining Liverpool anytime soon after Ralf Rangnick confirmed he could stay at RB Leipzig for ‘two or three years’.

As reported by the Independent, Leipzig’s technical director squashed any rumours about the German’s future.

Werner has been heavily linked with moves to join both Bayern and Liverpool in recent months.

Bayern are known admirers as they look to rebuild their dominance in Germany, but Werner is not willing to join the club yet, with Robert Lewandowski currently leading the line.

However, with the Pole turning 31 later this year, Werner has been earmarked as the ideal replacement.

Jurgen Klopp is also believed to be a fan of the player, with Liverpool still lacking what you would describe as an ‘out-and-out striker’.

Mohamed Salah has been used centrally this season and the Reds could look to address that position over the coming transfer windows.
